The super-max security gaol in Goulburn is home to notorious inmates such
as Ivan Milat. Although there is a lot of history associated with this
institution, it's secure nature means that it is not open for visitor tours
and photography is prohibited.
Goulburn's first lock-up was built around 1830 and gallows were built as
early as 1832 when floggings were common.
I'll tell my friends about your Festival of Roses & visitor centre. I
wish we had more time to appreciate your history & environs.
