Goulburn is known for three flowers - roses (in particular, the 'City of Goulburn Rose'), Lilac and Lavender.
Annual rose shows are held in March and November, and the Lilac City Festival held over the October long weekend each year is Australia's oldest continually run community festival.
I loved Goulburn, a beautifully laid out city of fine, old buildings and parks... As a matter of fact everyone in Goulburn went out of their way to be kind and welcoming... I can't think of a better place to stay. Even found shops with bargains to take home as reminders of a great time.
