Father Patrick Joseph Hartigan (poet John O'Brien and author of 'Around the Boree Log') attended St Patrick's College in Goulburn and was Inspector of Schools in the Goulburn district in 1910.

...Everywhere we went we were greeted with friendly smiles and genuine welcomes. It was refreshing and unexpected. Included in that were the retailers in Goulburn who were all helpful and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful weekend we will be back.
