Tallong Apple Festival
The Tallong Apple Day Festival is on the 6th of May! A family & friends fun day from approximately 9am until 3pm. The activities will be centred at the Tallong Memorial Hall, adjacent park and surrounding areas of Memorial Drive & Caoura Road.
The Apple Day Festival Committee which is a subsidiary of the Tallong Community Focus Group is organising a day of fun and celebrations to recognise the heritage of Tallong. There will be:
- lots of street market stalls
- displays of various classic vehicles & farm & industrial engines
- a wide variety of food & refreshment stalls
- lots of games for the kids
- a chance to be 'William Tell' ad shoot an arrow through an apple with the Goulburn Bowmen
- a parade of fancy dressed children with the theme of 'Clowning around at Apple Day'
- a photography competition centred on Tallong with the theme 'The Apple of My Eye'
- Mrs Ts Apple Day Bake-off competition (pies, cakes, tarts, chutneys, etc)
- various bands and entertainers performing thoughout the day
- art, quilt and craft displays
- displays by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Rural Fire Brigade
Apples will be the theme of the day and any profits will be put into local community projects such as the renovation of the Tallong Sports ground.
The festival also provides an opportunity for the Tallong Rural Fire Service, Tallong School P&C, Tallong Hall Trust, St Stephens church and other charitable groups to raise funds to carry on their great work.
Plenty of off street parking for coaches, a ferry service for drivers and a holding area and transfer service for items that coach patrons purchase.
