Historic cemeteries and graves.
Burial plot lists are available from the Goulburn Visitor Information Centre for:
- Mortis Street pioneer cemetery
- St Saviour's cemetery
- Kenmore / Roman Catholic cemetery
Other historic cemeteries are dotted throughout the surrounding villages and hamlets, including a Jewish cemetary.
A number of histories of the local area are available for purchase from the Goulburn Visitor Information Centre.
The Regional History Room at the Goulburn Branch Library and the Archives held at St Clair Folk Museum are also useful resources for researchers.
Captain William Hovell's grave (pictured) is located in St Saviour's cemetery (plot #246). From the main cemetery gate, the grave is located to the left of the first pathway, approx. 3/4 of the way down the path. It is a large white heastone surrounded by a fence.
The Durack family graves (plot #394) can be found in the Mortis Street Cemetery (roughly in the middle). There are five Duracks buried on this site with three headstones - Mary, Jeremiah, Mary, Patrick and Michael.
See MAP for cemetery locations.
