Goulburn Yurtfarm Kids' Camps
Goulburn Yurtfarm Kids' Camps offers a holiday with a difference for family groups, school groups and clubs.
The Yurtfarm is situated just outside Goulburn on a 1,174 acre property with beautiful rolling hills and bush. Here, your children can enjoy the natural thrill of working for fun on a real farm. They'll learn lots of practical, useful skills, as well as a sense of independence and achievement. The aim is to give children self-confidence and a sense of achievement whilst having fun.
Twendy years ago, Mike Shepherd started summer camps for kids from the city to teach them practical living skills. Today, Mike is still a real pied piper and children still come to the farm for an experience they will never forget.
There is a flying fox and a lot of other cool things. A sample program includes kids making their own pancacke breakfast (milking the cow, collecting the eggs and grinding the wheat for the ingredients), go horse riding and feed the pigs and goats. In the afternoon, make crafts, make boats to sail on the dam and fish for yabbies. Go for a bushwalk to discover nature and learn bush skills. In the evening, share a big home-cooked meal with home-grown organic frut and vegetables, have a singalong beside the campfire and take a ghostwalk.
Stay in the Yurtvillage in roundhouses called 'yurts', a bit like a big cubby house, based on the Mongolian tent design.
