Miles Franklin wrote the novel 'My Brilliant Career' at Stillwater, just
outside Goulburn. It was first published in 1901. Thomas J Hebblewhite was
the Editor of the Goulburn Evening Penny Post during the 1890s and
provided Miles with valuable advice and support, launching her literary
career.
A free self-guided walking tour "Miles Franklins' Goulburn" is available
from the Visitor Information Centre.
I had the best time I have had in a long time. I loved every minute, eg.
Very friendly people, beautiful parks and gardens, the roses were
magnificent. I hope to come back again...
